  • Protection of the Mother of God Church - The Protection of the Mother of God parish, in Rochester New York, was established by Russian Orthodox exiles displaced from their homeland by the Second World War. Divine services were first held in rented space in 1947. In 1952, a home on East Avenue in Rochester was purchased and converted into a church. At that time, the parish was formally incorporated as well. The church on East Avenue served as our parish home and the priest's residence for 50 years. In October 2002 we held our first services in our new church. Our new church is located near Rochester, in the town of Brighton, in a beautiful, peaceful, residential area. The new structure is a traditional Russian Orthodox church using the finest examples of northern Russian architecture. Currently our parish is a combination of emigrants from the former Russian empire, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as a growing number of American born converts to Orthodoxy. Whether you currently attend an Orthodox parish, or you would like to know more about the Orthodox faith, we welcome you to join us in worship next Sunday (schedule of services, directions to our parish) or to contact us.

  • St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary - St Vladimir's seeks to serve the Orthodox Church through theological education and scholarship. It educates future priests and church leaders and contributes directly to Orthodox theology through the scholarly activities of its faculty. Already at its establishment in 1938, the seminary was given a two-fold mandate by the leaders of the Orthodox Church: (1) to prepare well educated clergy and other leaders to serve the Orthodox faithful in this country; and (2) to promote study and research in Orthodox theology, history and culture. Now in its second half-century, the seminary is able to explore this mandate as never before. The seminary has been guided by the teachings of the Orthodox Church, according to which theology is not a field reserved for the clerical few but is rather the living foundation of the life and activity of the entire community of believers. Theological education means not just the training of clergy but also the preparation of men and women for lay vocations in such areas as music, education, administration and mission. In practical terms, this has meant the establishment of diverse programs of study at the seminary, each having its own objectives, methods and techniques but united with the others in a common theological perspective. The seminary is a center for theological education, but it is also a center for theological research and reflection. Through the effective use of its various resources – library, faculty, publications, auditoriums, and the internet – the seminary has been able to broaden its outreach, bringing the message of Orthodox theology to thousands who otherwise might be untouched by formal theological education. The seminary has long served as a forum for inter-Orthodox cooperation and unity and also for ecumenical dialogue. This is reflected not only in its student body but also in its faculty and board of trustees. The seminary is convinced that maintenanceof this rich diversity is vital for the fulfillment of its mission. The seminary is also convinced of the importance of strengthening and deepening the spiritual life of all the members of its community – faculty and staff as well as students. "The theologian is one who prays, and one who prays is truly theologian," said one of the Desert Fathers. As vital to the seminary as its classrooms and library is its chapel, the focus of its life of prayer, for a true center for theological education and reflection must be grounded in prayer. Without this spiritual depth, the seminary's programs and resources would surely fail to achieve the purpose intended for them.

  • Sunday School Network. - A word from Sarah Keith, founder of the Sunday School Network. In 1997 I developed ChristianCrafters.com, a one-page website, to display my first published book, Chrismon Snowflake Ornaments. The site quickly grew to include free Christian Crafts, Bible Games, Children's Sermons, Christian Skits, and Hands-On Bible Lessons. In January of 2000 I launched The Sunday School Teacher's Network with 65 Sunday School teachers enrolled. Currently there are over 13,000 Christian educators from all across the world participating in the network. In January of 2006 the site was renamed, SundaySchoolNetwork.com to more accurately describe the overall site content. * January 1, 2008 Alexa.com ranked SundaySchoolNetwork.com number two in all of Christian education internet sites. And since May of 07', we consistently rank within the top fifty to one hundred sites.

  • Wikichristian - WikiChristian is free encyclopedia and discussion forum of Biblical Christianity that anyone can contribute to. It was started in May 2004 and now contains 54,810 articles. Vision and Policies of WikiChristian WikiChristian is both an encyclopedia and a wiki community. WikiChristian is set up with the belief that every Christian, regardless of age, race, education, and gender has something of value to offer! With time we hope to see it become a useful reference on any topic related to Christianity. Its policy is that believers or non-believers can write articles. These articles do not need to be neutral point of view (personal opinions can be voiced), as long as the author of the article makes it clear what his or her background is. As a practical line in the sand, see our Page Layout and Writing Guide and Statement of Faith pages. WikiChristian also intends to be a reference point for factual information, original text, Bible versions, Bible dictionaries, song lyrics and personal testimonies of Christians. We intend to create a wiki community of Christians from around the globe that can voice their views, share their ideas and help others understand Christianity and its principles! Simply - WikiChristian wants to represent, document and link everything related to Christianity! WikiChristian was started by two Christian Believers who happen to be medical doctors by profession, Dr. Prab R Tumpati in USA and Dr. Graham L Grove in Australia. While the secular world has so many wiki projects going on, we felt a need for a wiki forum for all Christians so that we can share what we believe, who Jesus Christ is and how God loves this world. Our mission is to provide a Christian encyclopedia and be a wiki based forum for all Christian writings, serve as a repository for all Christian Classic works expanding the usefulness of the content by wiki internlinking the key words, provide a contemporary free Bible Dictionary created by users and last but not least build an open source Wiki Amplified Translation of the Bible.
