“The well bucket/taken by the morning glory/I beg for water.” –Chiyo-ni
The poet came out for water in the early morning, and found the morning glory vine twisted around the well bucket, so she begged for water from the neighbors rather than disturb the vine. (taken fom Robert Aitken’s “A ZEN WAVE”, pg. 52)
